Bring Your Child To Work Day

The 2005 Bring Your Child to Work Day was, once again, a very popular event among ControlTek employees.

Over twenty children joined their parents for the workday and attended company sponsored events. The day began with a presentation on “Life At ControlTek” for parents and kids. The presentation gave an overview of what goes on everyday at a business like ControlTek, including the many different jobs in ControlTek’s 37,000 square foot electronics design, manufacturing and test facility.

After the presentation the kids donned static jackets and footstraps for a facility tour led by ControlTek owners Andy LaFrazia and Stacey Smith. The tour guides made special efforts to ensure that every child got to see their parents workspace and explained what each parent does everyday.

Many smiling faces were seen when each child and parent followed ControlTek’s design, manufacture and test processes to create their own circuit board assembly. This was the favorite activity of the day and each child was able to take their pcb assembly full of blinking colored lights back to school the following day to tell their teachers about their experience at ControlTek’s Bring Your Child To Work Day.
