ControlTek Is Proud To Announce It’s 36th Year In Business:

Founded by George LaFrazia in 1971, ControlTek has grown into a successful electronics design and manufacturing services provider.  We sat down with George LaFrazia and current President Andy LaFrazia to find out why ControlTek has continued to thrive and meet with success over the past 35 years.

How does a company remain in business for 36 years?

George:
“Know your business and know it well. Not all business owners recognize the value of knowing everything about their business; knowing how well they're doing and why.

That's a risk when you take the wheel without giving much thought to what fuels the engine.”

Andy:
“I also think that long term customer relationships serve as the foundation of ControlTek’s success.  When we truly understand our client’s business requirements and integrate them with our capabilities we are able to add value and develop economies of scale. 

When I think about what has really worked in the past, it has been these collaborative and stable relationships where each company is so integral to the other that success is the only option.  Relationships my father started in the 70’s that are still running strong over 30 years later serve as a perfect example of ControlTek’s dedication to its customers.”

How does ControlTek define success?

Andy:
“A lot of companies are stuck focusing on the bottom line which may result in poor planning and short sighted decisions.  We define success through three factors: exceeding customer expectations, happy and dedicated employees and a healthy bottom line for ControlTek and it’s customers. If all three are in balance, then you’ve achieved success.”

George:
“You can’t be successful in the long run if your focus is too narrow.  I’ve seen many companies come and go because they enter into business deals when the money is there but its not necessarily a good business match.  Money should not be the main business driver.”
