As another holiday season begins, we can’t help but think of those who struggle to provide food for themselves and for their families this season and throughout the year. 

To help those who struggle with hunger, ControlTek employees recently participated in a Food and Funds Drive to collect and donate food and financial donations that can provide for families in need across Clark County.

As VP of HR, I have always believed the strength of ControlTek’s company culture has been a major driver in our ability to meet the needs of our customers and reach success as an organization.

However I also want to rely on more than just my gut feeling.

I needed to find a way to measure the impact our culture has on our business strategy, our employees, and our customers. I also hoped to expose the areas of our culture that still need improvement, so we can shine light into the shadows and continue our journey as a company.

In recent years, innovation is what has differentiated the U.S. in the global marketplace. Innovation, after all, is what is helping to spur the ‘reshoring’ movement in the U.S., especially innovation that leads to more efficient production and higher quality finished products. But what does that mean when it comes to employee recruitment?

12,164 miles later, the results are in, and we’re happy to announce ControlTek’s summer fitness challenge was a huge success!

Keeping the momentum of the ControlTek Forward Living Program up this summer, our employees have implemented a new friendly competition with the “Walk it Out” fitness challenge.

At ControlTek, our vision and mission are clearly focused around our ability to create longterm partnerships.

Often those relationships are with ControlTek's customers and vendors, but we also believe that as an organization our success rests squarely on our ability to form equally strong partnerships with our employees.

ControlTek’s Kaizen events are just one way ControlTek is working towards Lean Manufacturing goals at our electronics manufacturing facility. ControlTek is also investing in employee and management training initiatives made possible in part through grants received from the Washington Job Skills Program and the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council.

ControlTek employees have been channeling their inner Santas this month as they work together on the Family Christmas Program. The month-long event has been a part of ControlTek's holiday traditions for more than ten years, partnering ControlTek with the Vancouver Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) to provide food, clothing, gifts and other supplies for a local family in need during the holiday season.
