Hosted by the SMTA, the 2016 Medical Electronics Symposium will take place at Marylhurst University just outside of Portland, Oregon on September 14th and 15th. This marks the second year that the Symposium will take place in the Portland Metro area. Previous Symposium events have been held at locations in Arizona and California.

The recent IEC 62304 standard has gotten a lot of hype lately, as manufacturers throughout the medical industry grapple with what is quickly becoming the industry go-to for medical device software development. The FDA has adhered to the standard since 2008, and it has become normative for CE marking in recent years as well.
