As we say goodbye to 2018, we look forward to the challenges of a new year ahead.

In our 47 years in business, the one thing that has always remained constant is change. How we prepare for change is what sets ControlTek apart. No matter what new challenges we face, we must ensure we are ready to meet our customers' needs.

The new Engineering Business Manager role will be focused on building relationships with customers and interacting with internal teams to ensure electronic design projects meet ControlTek’s high standards for quality and on-time delivery.

We are very excited to be joining many of the top Silicon Valley suppliers in San Jose, California November 28th for the 2018 Silicon Valley Expo & Tech Forum. 

This one-day event features an outstanding schedule of technical sessions to discuss trends that will affect the electronics and manufacturing industries in the years to come, including Industry 4.0 innovations like digital manufacturing and 3D printing, e-textile development and more.

As another holiday season begins, we can’t help but think of those who struggle to provide food for themselves and for their families this season and throughout the year. 

To help those who struggle with hunger, ControlTek employees recently participated in a Food and Funds Drive to collect and donate food and financial donations that can provide for families in need across Clark County.

Electronic Component Shortages Continue in 2018

Late last summer, we informed you of market conditions that were creating longer lead times for some components.

As we move through 2018 we continue to see component lead times grow and prices climb as growing demand puts a strain on supplier resources. Although the industry is hard at work to address this market shift, the changes will take time. We expect to see these conditions continue well into 2019.

What is Teardown?

An event for hardware enthusiasts from around the world, Crowd's Supply's Teardown event offers attendees an opportunity to “celebrate, inspect, create, and, of course, tear down” hardware. The 3-day showcase takes place May 11-13 at the Pacific Northwest College of Art and includes not only hardware but also art, food, puzzles, workshops, tutorials and more. ControlTek President Andy LaFrazia was asked to participate in this year's event to share his expertise with new product developers.

One of the many lessons we’ve learned during ControlTek’s 46 year history is that we must alway be prepared for change. Never has this been more true in the electronics industry, where the pace of change is rapidly accelerating to include new technologies, new processes, and the new skill sets necessary to meet the needs of our customers.
