October 14, 2015: Gathering to celebrate the successes of the past year and to make plans for the coming year, the 2015 Grow Manufacturing Luncheon and Expo takes place next month in Pasco, Washington. This event, hosted by the Tri-City Development Council (TRIDEC) brings together manufacturers from across the Columbia Basin for an afternoon of inspiration and knowledge sharing.                

AirAdvice for Homes got its start in the Pacific Northwest during the 1990s. The company designs and manufactures the AirAdvice Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Monitor, an electronic device that quickly tests and analyzes indoor air for particles and volatile organic compounds (“VOCs”) that go undetected by sight or smell. The AirAdvice IAQ Monitor portfolio of products is for sale in the Residential Contracting, Government, and Healthcare markets.

The team at AirAdvice for Homes has enjoyed a ten-year partnership with ControlTek, combining ControlTek’s extensive technical manufacturing and engineering services with the company’s own in-house engineering capabilities.

This month, ControlTek executives are preparing for the trip south to San Diego to participate in the upcoming IPC APEX and the EMS Management Council Meeting, where they will get a Macro look at the Electronic Manufacturing Services industry.

Once upon a time, circuit design and circuit assembly were done by hand, a time consuming process that could eat up project dollars and sometimes lead to design or manufacturing flaws. But a lot has changed in the electronics manufacturing industry, even in the last ten years, and these changes are now providing new opportunities for design engineering innovation, product design flexibility, and big savings in time and production costs.

Workforce education and development are excellent ways to contribute to the overall success of the industry, region, and country, and benefit everyone involved, but only if we work together  to foster and support those development opportunities.
